As a registered student at DelVal, you have chosen to enter into an agreement to rent textbooks necessary for your course.  You agree to accept responsibility and adhere to the terms and conditions of this agreement.

You admit that you are at least 18 years of age.

You understand that the textbook(s) rented to you is/are the property of the DelVal Bookstore (Bookstore) and that by accepting the terms of this textbook rental program, you accept the responsibility of using the textbook(s) and returning it/them to the Bookstore in resalable condition.  Textbooks must be generally clean in appearance with no torn or missing pages, no water or fire damage, no excessive highlighting or notes, and with the cover intact.

You accept that the Bookstore will make the final determination of the condition of the returned textbook(s).

You have 24 hours to examine and exchange a defective textbook for a like item.  You understand that another textbook may not be available, and therefore you have the option of canceling the rental agreement for a refund at that time.

All rental textbooks must be returned to the Bookstore by the Monday following the last day of finals, and that DelVal is not responsible for reminding you of the rental return date (1)The standard Bookstore refund policies apply to this agreement.

Should you separate, withdraw, or be withdrawn from Delaware Valley University, you will have 2 weeks from that notification to return your rental textbook to avoid a charge to your student account.

You agree, understand and authorize the Bookstore to place a Bursar hold and charge on your student account if the textbook(s) is/are not returned by the rental return date.  In addition, if the textbook(s) is/are not returned by the deadline, you may not be eligible to participate in this program in the future.

In order to receive a full refund of the rental fee, you must cancel the rental agreement and return the textbook(s) by the cancellation date (2) listed for the applicable term and you must present the original receipt.  For dropped courses, you must return the textbook(s) by the refund date (3) listed for the applicable term.  For PACT courses, in order to receive a full refund of the rental fee, you must cancel the rental agreement and return the textbook(s) within one week of the start of a course and you must present the original receipt.  For dropped PACT courses, the textbook(s) must be returned within two weeks of the start of the course.

You must return the textbook(s) by the Monday following the last day of finals (rental return date (1)); otherwise you are responsible for paying for a late fees and/or replacement textbook(s).  For PACT courses, textbooks must be returned within three days after each 7-week course segment.  Your student account will be billed for the full price of a New Textbook (even if a used book is rented) minus the price paid for the rental.  Furthermore, if the account is not settled within 30 days of the due date, your account may be sent to a collection agency for the amount of the new textbook replacement (the full price of a New Textbook, even if a used book is rented, minus the price paid for the rental) and that you will be responsible for all collection fees, legal fees, and any other fees incurred in association with the collection of this debt.

If the textbook(s) is returned between Tuesday and Friday following the last day of finals you are responsible to pay a $20 late fee per rental textbook (see late returns period (4)).  Rental textbooks cannot be returned after that Friday and you are responsible to pay for the full price of New Textbook (even if a used textbook is rented) minus the price paid for the rental (nonreturnable date (5)).

If the Bookstore is closed at all during the week following finals, textbooks may be left with the security office. Your name must accompany each of your textbook rentals.

If the textbook(s) is/are lost or stolen, you are responsible for paying for a replacement textbook(s). Your student account will be billed for the full price of a New Textbook (even if a used book is rented) minus the price paid for the rental.  Furthermore, if the account is not settled within 30 days of the due date, your account may be sent to a collection agency for the amount of the new textbook replacement (the full price of a New Textbook, even if a used textbook is rented, minus the price paid for the rental) and that you will be responsible for all collection fees, legal fees, and any other fees incurred in association with the collection of this debt.
